MEA was founded in 1993 to bring the wonder of flight to young people. MEA has sponsored several air shows in Manassas, Virginia; has arranged educational programs, and was a proud sponsor of local EAA Young Eagles flights. Money raised from these events has been used to provide scholarships to young people who want to embark on an adventure of flight. In 2004 the MEA Charter was expanded to include promoting public awareness of the history and accomplishments of our men and women in uniform who sacrifice much to keep our nation free. MEA proudly sponsors two informational websites: www.31st-seabees.com - a WW-II unit of Naval Construction men who fought along side Marines on Iwo Jima, and www.mcb71.com - a Viet Nam era military unit that served in Viet Nam and also constructed a research station at the South Pole This website is a work in progress. Look for more information about events and registration information for our scholarships. Tax deductible donations are always welcome. MEA does not pay employees -- all officers and helpers are volunteers. Donors may specify that 100% of their contributions are to go directly to young people so they can experience flight and a chance at the controls for the first time. Donors may also indicate that their donations are to be used for Military History Education. MEA will assist with the development of websites, sponsor research on military units defending our nation, and participate in other projects that will build public awareness of the accomplishments, sacrifices and dedication of our men and women in uniform. MEA is a Non-Profit Educational Charity under IRS code § 501(c)(3). All contributions are tax deductible.
